Hito Bouin's Plus Solution is designed based on alcoholic Bouin's solution. Unlike general Bouin’s solution, which often renders soft tissues too brittle for dissection, this formulation is highly recommended for fixation of delicate tissues such as the brain and spinal cord. It minimizes tissue shrinking or swelling, ensuring reliable preservation.
The solution is highly compatible with Verhoeff / Van Gieson stain due to its mordanting effect on tissue. Freshly prepared from paraformaldehyde powder, picric acid, and alcohol, it maintains its original quality for up to six months when stored at room temperature.
